A winter blast is coming for PEI on Tuesday.
Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Watch for all of PEI, as well as a special weather statement for the province. PEI is expected to get more than 20 centimetres of snow, with winds gusting at up to 80 kilometres per hour starting tomorrow morning.
Environment Canada also says Kings County, Queens County and Prince County are expected to see higher-than-normal water levels and pounding surf starting tomorrow evening. The forecast says a low-pressure system combined with strong winds will cause higher-than-normal water levels and pounding surf near high tide for north- to west-facing coastlines.
Due to that forecast, Northumberland Ferries is advising that it has cancelled all sailings for the day on Tuesday between Wood Islands and Caribou.
