UPEI is holding its Convocation ceremonies this week from Tuesday through Friday. Each ceremony will be held in the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre, starting at 10 am. For each ceremony—for the first time—the Eagle Feather, which was presented to the University by the Native Council of PEI in 2023, will be carried as part of the Academic Procession and placed in a position of prominence on the Convocation stage alongside the ceremonial mace. During the Convocation ceremonies, honourary degrees will be conferred upon Mary Jeanette Gallant, Aggi-Rose Reddin, John Bragg, Reginald “Dutch” Thompson, and Gary Schneider. Thursday’s ceremony will see the first graduates of the Doctor of Psychology program—five in total— receive their degrees.
