Charlottetown Police say they arrested seven impaired drivers over the weekend.
Among them was a 39-year old Charlottetown man who was stopped by police on Rosemount Drive and arrested for dangerous driving. He was subsequently charged with impaired driving after providing breath samples that were twice the legal limit, and also faces the additional charge of dangerous driving.
In another incident, an attempted traffic stop on Great George Street saw the driver in the suspect vehicle collide with a vehicle that had been pulled over the side to make way for the police vehicle that had its lights activated. The collision was minor and there were no injuries. The driver provided breath samples that were below the legal limit and was served with a seven day driving suspension.
There were also three drivers arrested for impaired as a result of a roadside checkpoint at 2:30 am Saturday on Water Street.
