Cornwall man re-arrested and charged with offenses including sexual assault

The RCMP says 39-year old Matthew Alan Craswell of Cornwall was re-arrested on Sunday, and appeared in Provincial Court Monday morning.  Craswell was arrested last Thursday in connection with a child pornography investigation by the RCMP.  He was released from custody after being charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.    The RCMP says that information came forward to police from the public regarding an incident that occurred in April 2024, while Craswell was teaching. With that information from the public, police laid new charges of sexual exploitation, sexual assault and sexual interference against Craswell after rearresting him.  He’s now being held in custody until a show cause hearing Wednesday.
