Summerside Police are investigating a theft from a jewelry store in the County Fair Mall on Monday afternoon. At about 1:30pm, a man fled with two rings that were being shown to him. One ring was valued at $17,000 and the second was valued at $8,000. The suspect is described as being 5’10” tall, with a medium build, and salt and pepper hair and he got into a black BMW that was waiting outside. The BMW was being driven by a woman described as having blonde hair. Summerside Police say the two drove off and then went to the Granville Street Esso where they pumped some gas and fled without paying.The vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on Granville Street. At the time of the theft, the BMW had the PEI license plate B311D attached – a plate that was reported stolen earlier in the day.
