Irving Oil has donated its property at the northwest corner of the Euston Street – Queen Street intersection in downtown Charlottetown to the City of Charlottetown. Future plans by the City of Charlottetown include a community hub and collaborative space for government, private sector and community to innovate. The property includes the building with its iconic “turret” design by Acadian architect Samuel Roy, who developed other Irving retail sites of similar design around the Maritimes. Constructed in the 1930s, the Euston Street site served as a popular filling and service station for over 70 years.
