Co-owner of VOLUME18, Co-owner of Sterns Launderers and Dry Cleaners, Proud Mom of 3

Heather MacAulay is a Prince Edward Island business leader, community builder, and proud mother of three who believes deeply that loving what you do is the key to a meaningful life. “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life,” she often says — a philosophy that guides both her professional and personal pursuits.
Heather is the co-owner of VOLUME18, alongside her business partner Christina MacLeod. Since 2018, the duo has led meaningful communications and strategy work across Prince Edward Island, supporting organizations with thoughtful, purpose-driven campaigns that strengthen communities and drive impact. Under their leadership, VOLUME18 has built a reputation for clarity, creativity, and collaboration.
In addition to her work in communications, Heather is the co-owner of Sterns Launderers and Commercial Dry Cleaners with her partner Andrew Bonnell. As one of Charlottetown’s longest-standing businesses, Sterns represents legacy, resilience, and local pride. Heather is deeply committed to carrying that legacy forward, honouring the generations who built the business while positioning it for continued success.
Raised on a farm in Souris, Heather developed an early appreciation for hard work, discipline, and community connection, values that remain central to her life today. Her alarm clock regularly rings in the “4s,” a quiet hour she treasures for its calm, focus, and opportunity to get ahead of the day.
An avid marathon runner, Heather brings the same endurance, determination, and mental toughness to her work and volunteer commitments as she does to the road. She believes strongly in the unparalleled value of community and invests her time accordingly — serving as a hockey manager, sitting on her local Home and School Association, contributing to the Gold Cup Parade Committee, and supporting various nonprofit initiatives across the Island.
Above all, Heather is most proud of her role as a mother to her nine-year-old daughter and six-year-old twin boys. “This is my most important job,” she says without hesitation. Whether in business, volunteerism, or family life, Heather leads with heart, energy, and a deep belief that strong communities are built by people willing to show up and do the work.
