Federal Agriculture Minister and Cardigan MP Lawrence MacAulay joined provincial Health Minister Mark McLane on Tuesday to announce a bilateral agreement to invest more than $29 million over the next five years to help improve health care access for Island seniors. Officials say the funding builds on the $94 million announced this past December. The plan will increase access to home care services by building a Hospital-at-Home service with licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, and paramedics providing acute care services at home. The plan will also
close gaps in the long term care sector by hiring additional health providers, like occupational, physical, and recreational therapists.
