After fuel prices had gone down on Friday morning with the weekly review of prices by the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission, you’ll see an increase tomorrow as the Federal Carbon Tax goes up. As of tomorrow, April 1st, you’ll pay an additional 3.3 cents per litre for gasoline; 4.0 cents per litre for diesel; and 2.3 cents per litre for propane. A number of Premiers have been voicing concerns about the impact the increase will have on Canadians who are already struggling with the rising cost of living. Premier Dennis King had written a letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau asking him to cancel the increase in the Federal Carbon Tax. Trudeau has said that the premiers and other political leaders are failing to acknowledge and inform Canadians about carbon-price rebates aimed at offsetting consumer costs.
