The Downtown Charlottetown Farmers’ Market is on the move. It’s being moved from its traditional location on lower Queen Street to the lawn in front of Founders’ Food Hall and Market. The City says Charlottetown Police, Fire and the Public Works Department all spoke with Downtown Charlottetown Inc. about safety concerns stemming from the market’s operations on Queen Street. It says those concerns included emergency response access and site control. City officials say that during the process, different options were discussed and after evaluating a number of different locations, it says Downtown Charlottetown Inc. proposed the new location by Founders’ Food Hall and Market. City staff reviewed the proposed site on a number of factors and offered its support for that location this year.
