Late Wednesday afternoon, the Charlottetown Police Street Crime Unit conducted a targeted vehicle stop and arrested one person following an investigation into the selling of cocaine in Charlottetown. Officers seized 32 grams of cocaine, 6 grams of ecstasy, a small amount of cash and a cell phone. A 37 year old Cornwall man has been charged with Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; driving while Prohibited; and failing to comply with a release order. Police say he was bound by a release order stemming from another charge of Driving While Prohibited in November 2023, and a charge of Assault with a weapon in December of 2023. The man has been remanded in custody and will soon appear in Provincial Court.
