According to reports out of Ottawa, Gatineau MP and Charlottetown native Steven MacKinnon will be sworn in Friday morning as the new Minister of Labour and Seniors. MacKinnon is to be sworn in at Rideau Hall in Ottawa. MacKinnon will replace Seamus O’Regan, who announced Thursday he was leaving his role as the country’s minister of labour to spend more time with his family. MacKinnon has been serving as government House leader while Karina Gould is on parental leave.
