Roy MacCaull, Marcella Richard, Larry Campbell perform  Nov 19th in S’SIDE and Nov 22nd in Charlottetown

i‘‘SONGS OF ROY MACCAULL” CONCERTS SUNDAY NOV 19, S’SIDE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH and WED, Nov 22 AT THE JACK BLANCHARD CENTER, CHARLOTTETOWN.

The Concert help at the S’SIDE Presbyterian Church on Sunday,Nov 19 starts at 7:00 and 7:30 at the Jack Blanchard Center Wed Nov 22.  These two concerts are to honour a great singer, songwriter the Legendary Roy MacCaull.
This will be a trip down memory lane for host Larry Campbell when he will once again team up with his TV buddy Roy MacCaull, former host of the popular Cable TV program “Community Showcase” and a lady that will be performing all of Roy’s songs the very talented Marcella Richard.
Roy recorded  his own albums and contributed to 28 other albums with fellow band members.  All the while Roy was holding down a full time job with Canada Post where he was affectionately known as “The Singing Postman”.  One of his songs, Shores of PEI was recorded by George Hamilton IV.  While living in Scarborough, Ontario Roy performed with such stars as Mac Wiseman, Tex Ritter, Waylon Jennings, Carol Baker, Hank Snow, and Kitty Wells just to name a few.  After returning to PEI Roy continued to be involved in music, hosting the popular cable TV program “Community Showcase” as well as opening his own recording studio in Ellerslie, PEI where he continues to promote young artists.

Richard was raised in Mont Carmel, in the Evangeline area of PEI.  She has been involved in theatre and music for many years, with performances enjoyed by audiences in the Maritimes, across Canada, United States and France.  With her mom singing and her dad playing guitar, she was surrounded with music all her life.  Marcella has recorded 3 French albums and all songs are written by artists from the Maritimes and Louisiana, for this concert Marcella will be performing songs written by Roy MacCaull.

Campbell a long time friend and playing partner of Roy’s will be performing some of Roy’s songs as well.  This will be one great concert and a wonderful tribute to a great singer-songwriter Roy MacCaull.  All the music performed has been written by Roy and recorded by Marcella Richard.  Tickets are $10 at the door with doors opening at 6:00 and 6:30 respectively.
