The East Coast Music Association has announced the recipients of its Honourary Awards, which will be presented at ECMA 2024 in Charlottetown from May 1-5. That includes the Stompin’ Tom Awards, which recognize one individual in each of five regions across Atlantic Canada who have made a long-term contribution to the East Coast music industry and paved the road for many successful East Coast artists of today. The Stompin’ Tom Award for PEI will be presented posthumously to Kerri Wynne MacLeod. ECMA says that as a celebrated performer and Ocean 100’s beloved morning show co-host, her contributions to the arts, charitable efforts, and community spirit are legendary.
The Musician’s Achievement Award, which recognizes a session musician who exemplifies professionalism and quality musicianship on recordings and/or live performances of East Coast music, is being presented to Deryl Gallant of PEI.
PEI’s Scott Parsons is receiving the Bucky Adams Memorial Award, which recognizes a member of the African Canadian / Black community that has had a significant impact on the African Canadian / Black and/or overall music industry in Atlantic Canada.
