The Vipers advanced to the Final with a 6-2 win over the host team from Mount Pearl in Saturday’s semi-final. Antigonish beat the St. John’s Caps on Saturday to advance to today’s Final.
In the N-H-L playoffs, Boston beat Toronto 3-1 and Boston now leads the series 3 games to 1. The New York Islanders won 3-2 in double overtime over the Carolina Hurricanes, and now trail the series 3 games to 1. The Tampa Bay Lightning doubled the Florida Panthers 6-3 to cut their deficit in the series to 3-1. Dallas trimmed Vegas 3-2 in overtime and lead their series 2-1
The Summerside Western Capitals play tonight in Miramichi against the Timberwolves in Game 4 of the Maritime Junior Hockey League Final. Miramichi leads the best-of-seven series 2-games-to-1.
The Pownal Ice Dogs lost 4-3 to the Sunny Corner Thunder from New Brunswick in their semi-final at the Junior C Atlantic Championships.
In the NBA playoffs, the winners on Saturday included Orlando, Oklahoma City, Boston and the Lakers.
