Summerside unveils plans for Shipyard Property on Waterfront

The City of Summerside held a news conference  Monday morning to announce a major transformation project that it says will support redefining Summerside’s downtown waterfront. The Summerside Shipyard, an iconic waterfront property, has been acquired by Duke Cormier, President of Corfam Investments Inc. The City says the strategic acquisition marks the beginning of a visionary project aimed at revitalizing the area and providing a vibrant hub for residents and visitors.  With a substantial investment of up to $700-thousand, the space will undergo extensive renovations to become a year-round restaurant, bar, event, and meeting space. The City says the project aims to blend modern amenities with the historical charm of the waterfront.  Construction and development of the Shipyard property are set to begin this summer with a soft-opening set for the spring of 2025.
